1st August
 (first day of Sprinter (winterspring)).  Friends of Yosemite Sam.
Saw these native peas, Bossiaea sp., (Yosemite Sam look-a-likes)
on a bushwalk today.

 Am I Not Pretty Enough.  Spent Magnolia flower.  
This photo is from my soft side, not like yesterdays dark side.

 No body wanted Angie.

 Slivers of gold in a dark alley.
The sun catches a ledge and downpipe in an alley way between
buildings in Parramatta that are earmarked for demolition.

 I think its run out of 'Puff'.

 Visiting the wineries at Mudgee, NSW.   This was at the Pieter van Gent Winery.

 I can never tell if I'm coming or going.
Western Plains Zoo at Dubbo, NSW.

 The village of Lue (near Mudgee NSW) no longer bustles as it once did.

    Hanging above dental clinic at Narrabeen.


13th August
 Remains of The Bush House or Folly.
The Bush House (built in the 1870's) is part of a terraced 19th century
garden complex containing the remains of a glasshouse and rose
garden, located in the grounds of the Gladesville Hospital,
South Campus (once known as the Tarban Creek Lunatic Asylum).


14th August
 Looking like a small match, each bud on this banksia
 flower head promises a plentiful summer nectar flow for the
local honeyeaters and lorikeets.


15th August

 3 Peas, but not from the same pod.
   The flowers of 3 native peas growing in the garden.

   Jack and Gel. A nursery rhyme that went horribly wrong.

A Cadillac on show at the Maroota Muster. (the white spots are raindrops)

 A dragon passed by.


25th August
 Spring is close when my orchids start to bloom.


26th August
 Wildflowers in the garden. (another day at home)
  Clockwise from top right Dianella sp., Leptospermum (Tea Tree), Epacris longiflora and a Hovea sp.


27th August
 Orchid in the wild.
Went looking for native ground orchids this afternoon. I found
4 species but the only one in flower was this lone Caladenia sp.


28th August
 Mandarin Sitting at a Window.
   Seen in a window while visiting a friend at RPA Hospital, Camperdown.


29th August
 Dragon on a post.
 Saw this Eastern Bearded Dragon (Pogona barbata), as a bonus,
while on a 'Rare and Threatened Flora' bus trip today.


30th August
 Another day but a different dragon.
 Eastern Water Dragon (Physignathus lesueurii), seen near the
Grotto Point Lighthouse in Sydney Harbour National Park.


31st August
 The last day of our southern winter, tomorrow we burst into Spring
